A fascinating trip. This holiday is designed to visit some of the top destinations. The climax is the trip to Svaneti province in the heart of the Central Caucasus surrounded by mighty 5000 metre peaks, We explore the remote villages lying at their feet, admire their unique towers. We dive far away from modern civilization deep into the remotest mountains - hence facilities can be limited. This is well, compensated by the amazing scenery and discovery of ancient local cultures preserved for thousands of years. From Svaneti we travel down to the relaxing Black Sea.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Tbilisi. Day 2: Full day city tour of Tbilisi. Day 3: Excursion in Mtskheta, ancient capital of Georgia. Drive to Kutaisi. Visit Bagrati and Gelati Temples. Night in Kutaisi. Day 4: Drive to Mestia, Svaneti province by journey along Enguri river valley. Excursions. Night in Mestia. Day 5: Walking tour in Mestia to visit the Museum and watch towers and enjoy the views of the Caucasian summits the most impressive of which are Mountains Ushba and Tetnuldi. Day 6: Drive to Ushguli, one of the most spectacular villages in Georgia. Visit the medieval towers and have amazing views of Mt. Shkhara (5201m), the highest summit in Georgia. Night in Ushguli. Day 7: Easy walk to the foot of Mt. Shkhara to reach its glacier, falling from the snowy slopes of the summit. Drive back to Mestia. Day 8: Drive down to Zugdidi and via town Poti (Poti is associated with the place where Argonauts began their adventures in the Kingdom of Colchis) and along the Black Sea coast arrive Batumi. Day 9: Morning city tour of Batumi and visit Gonio fortress. Afternoon free to enjoy the Black Sea. Day 10: Drive or fly to Tbilisi. Day 11: Half day Excursion to David Gareji Monastery. Night in Tbilisi. Day 12: End of the tour.
