After exploring Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Kutaisi we start our adventures. These involve visits to some of the finest country destinations. We travel deep into the southern slopes of the Central Caucasus Mountains in Racha province. We visit the Black Sea to relax before we continue our journey through high mountains of Ajara to Vardzia and Borjomi National Park. The tour then takes us up to Kazbegi in the heart of the Caucasian mountains, where we take easy walks through beautiful valleys dominated by the white summit of Kazbek.

 

Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive Tbilisi. Day 2: Full day city tour of Tbilisi. Day 3: Visit Mtskheta. Drive to Kutaisi and excursions to Bagrati and Gelati Cathedrals. Day 4: Trip to Oni in Racha mountainous province via Nakerala Pass, Shaori Lake and Nikortsminda Church. Day 5: Trip north to the Central Caucasus Mountains and explore remote villages and churches in Racha. Day 6: Trip to Batumi on the Black Sea.  Day 7: Excursion to Gonio Fortress. Free time in Batumi to enjoy the Black Sea. Day 8: Via the Ajara Mountains and Goderdzi Pass arrive in Akhaltsikhe, Meskheti province. Day 9: Full day trip to Vardzia cave-monastery, visit Sapara Church and overnight in Borjomi. Day 10: Enjoy walking in Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. Overnight in Borjomi. Day 11: Drive east and then north along Georgian Military Highway and cross the Jvari Pass to Kazbegi village located at the foot of Mt. Kazbek. Day 12: Walk to Gergeti Church. Detour to remote village of Juta and the Chaukhi Mountains. Arrive Gudauri resort. Day 13: Pleasant downhill trek through the beautiful Khada Valley. On the way to Tbilisi visit Ananuri Fortress. Arrive Tbilisi. Day 14: Half day excursion to David Gareji Monastery. Arrive Tbilisi. Day 15: End of the trip.
